Customer Reviews and Description To many humans Timothy Treadwells story may seem "out there and crazy". The fact that Timothy loved the bears and other wild animals so much most probably seems nuts to most humans..I know, as I am a wildlife rehabilitator, I know what many people honestly think of wild animals and those who try to help them. Timothy enjoyed being with the bears and fox and he enjoyed learning about their ways of life as well as educate the public.Timothy protected not only Grizzly Bears but other wild animals. There are ... Read MoreRead Reviews and Description

Customer Reviews and Description Holly Pierlot has done mothers a great service with this book. Once tempted to quit the domestic life, she has chosen not to take the easy way out. Instead, she has sought and taught ways to persevere in her calling as wife, mother and homeschooler. One of the things I learned from the book was that there is no reason to feel guilty when I need a break. After doing a thousand hectic things all week, I now go alone before the Blessed Sacrament to pray, collect my thoughts and once in awhile, to fall asleep! ... Read MoreRead Reviews and Description

Customer Reviews and Description Same old sardonic whimsey. Repetitive intellectual arrogance. Recapitulated old political arguments as if they remain coherent living issues. Profound things have happened to Israel. Time has passed Amos Oz by.

Customer Reviews and Description I have nothing to add to the reviews below except to note for scholarly interest that the essay 'The Work of Art in the Age of Mechanical Reproduction' included in this collection is not Benjamin's final version. (Neither is this title a good translation of the German: 'Das Kunstwerk im Zeitalter seiner technischen Reproduzierbarkeit'. Zohn's translation in the selected writings is better: 'The Work of Art in the Age of its Technological Reproducibility'.) The text in this collection is the 1935 manuscript, as ... Customer Reviews and Description After personally using the companion devotional book last year, I recommended that our ladies' Sunday School class try this workbook in between other studies. Since each week focuses on a different woman, we can easily continue later with the following chapter. So far, the response has been excellent. The questions provoke personal comments from the whole group, although occassionally I find the queries to be oversimplified. The accompanying history and scriptures show that much study went into this book. ... Read MoreRead Reviews and Description

Customer Reviews and Description Max Hastings is, with John Keegan and Sir Martin Gilbert, the best British Military Historian of the Post-World War II era. His works on the Falklands Conflict, on D-Day, and more recently "Armageddon" - the story of the last nine months of World War II in Europe are the kind of military histories one cannot put down until reading to the very last page. That is how I felt about "Armageddon" - and pretty much how I feel about Hastings' latest: "Warriors: Portraits from the Battlefield".

Customer Reviews and Description Compiling one's life in an A-Z type format - where you get to highlight the ordinary-yet-compelling aspects of everyday life - is a great idea when you want to write a memoir yet nothing terribly noteworthy has happened to you. Instead, Krouse Rosenthal relies on the "yeah, I do/ think that, too!" response of readers. Such as the way she constantly flips to the author's back jacket photo when she's reading a book - the more flip-backs, the more she likes the book. Yeah, I do that too! However, some entries were clearly ... Read MoreRead Reviews and Description
