Customer Reviews and Description Bang! and just like that perhaps the greatest Civil rights leader was assonated, shot, and killed. Martin Luther King was born in Atlanta on January 15, 1929. He was raised in a Baptist church where his father was a pastor. Then after childhood King went to Morehouse University in 1944. After he received his masters degree Martin became a pastor like his father and married. Later Martin Luther King organized black leaders in the SCLC (Southern Christian Leadership Conference). After writing a book ... Read MoreRead Reviews and Description

Customer Reviews and Description After seeing Kyle on TV, I had to read his story. It is a great motivational book and a great title for his story and his life. After reading the book, you realize that you should have "No Excuses" for accomplishing the things you really want in life. I like the fact that the story is written totally from his perspective. Kyle is an inspiration and reading his book will help you look at your life and the challenges you may face differently.

Customer Reviews and Description This is a story of a boy's struggle growning up in foster homes. It is very well writen. Once you start you can't put it down. I first read the book in the 80's. It is such a good book I had to read it again. You will want to share this book with friends. If you liked one child or a boy called it you will love this book.

Customer Reviews and Description This book is written by Max Hastings a it's is a hard book to rate because it brings good things in the way he describes the life he lived and the things that he did during the war. The bad side is that what he explains just isn't up to par with other War memorials, especially if you are looking for ones concerning the Eastern front.

Customer Reviews and Description I was given this book as a kid by a nice old man at my church. I stopped going to church in my teens and am now agnostic. I have since become very critical of religion and my country (mainly the government and our corporate culture). However I think it's important not to become too cynical. In writing a review of this book I find it necessary to point this out because it is a very simply told, innocent story written by a young man who is not a professional writer or an intellectual. He's just a normal, young ... Read MoreRead Reviews and Description

Customer Reviews and Description This is the best book that I have ever read. His life is just really interesting to me. It might be because im a runner too, but i dont care. All the things that he does. Like how he just starts to run becasue he cant play football with the other kids. Also how he says when he is in high school that he is going to go to the Olympics. He Is an insperation to many runners. With him dying so young just makes his story all the more tragic. His tenacity is what I most like about him. How he says that he doesn't ... Customer Reviews and Description This is a very easy to read book that I think should be read in high-schools. Jacobs was a slave who wrote this--not someone looking in from the outside, so it's her firsthand experiences of life as a slave. I wrote a report on Jacobs for a college English course after reading one story she wrote, and then I found out she wrote more and had to buy the book. I couldn't put it down. It opened my eyes to how brutal things really were, and how difficult is must have been. She's just amazing!!!

Customer Reviews and Description i read this book when i was doing research on depression, OCD and other related disorders, for a novel i was working on. this book is good if you want to get into the mind of a manic-depressive and see how they live and relate to other people. but wurtzel, herself, i have developed an aversion to as well as her work. much of the time, she comes off as whiny and self-absorbed. nothing more than a bitchy child of white privilege, who wants people to feel sorry for her. i have little sympathy for ivy-league kids, who've had everything ...
