Customer Reviews and Description Anyone with a child on the autism spectrum knows why this book was written! I found it while surfing Amazon and was hoping it would contain the answers I was looking for -- and it really does! The book offers parents very specific suggestions of how to involve and motivate their child in interactive play and it's easy for the parents/caregivers to understand how to adjust for their child's specific spectrum disorder. My son has PDD-NOS and I feel much clearer on how to approach play with him now ... Read MoreRead Reviews and Description

Customer Reviews and Description David Kirby, science and health researcher for the New York Times, writes an even-handed and gripping account of the battle between parents of autistic children who believe mercury in vaccines harmed their children, and the government and pharmaceutical industries who disagree. Particularly noteworthy are the government officials and drug company employees who refused to be interviewed by Kirby, contrasted with the heart-wrenching stories of bright-eyed children who became listless and detached from ... Customer Reviews and Description Studying for my renewal for NRP proved to be as easy as the initial class with the cd-rom. I have extremely limited contact with this pt. population, but I am able to easily recall the information attained through this text/multimedia. Although nothing substitutes actual "hands-on," instruction or experience, this will provide a valuable asset for the ACLS/PALS impaired.

Customer Reviews and Description Notwithstanding the L. A. Times describing this book as easy-to-use and informative, I found it close to useless. The basic problem is that it does not give information for any individual drugs - it gives info only for drug classes. As an example, I tried to get information on using Cipro for travelers' diarrhea. I had to look up Cipro in the index, where I was referred to the fluoroquinolones section, which lists Cipro along with 12 other wide-spectrum antibotics. There is no Cipro-specific information regarding ... Read MoreRead Reviews and Description

Customer Reviews and Description This book is a hasty review of Orgo, but it covers most of the MCAT material in relatively small number of pages. Although some diagrams are not very helpful, it tells you most of what you need. It is basically a good book if you are a time-pressed pre-med trying to take the MCAT in 2 months. If you have more time, I recommend reading over your orgo textbook once more and doing problem sets in various other MCAT preparation materials (the ones with only MCAT style problems). Hope this helps.

Customer Reviews and Description The advice in this book is solid and appropriate for most kids. However, the writer's attitude is judgmental. If you are buying this book, it's probably because your child's eating has not gone as smoothly as you'd like. For most of us, a lot of our parental self-esteem is wrapped up in this issue. So it just makes no sense to act as if it's usually the parent's fault - why alienate and beat up your target audience???? Plus, while I'm sure that some parents contribute to kids' eating issues, plenty of kids are just born ... Read MoreRead Reviews and Description

Customer Reviews and Description I bought this book because of a general interest in human behavior, patterns and intelligence. I have often struggled with verbalizing the differences between how computers and people "think" - and I hoped this book would shed some light on that.

Customer Reviews and Description I use this book for college, I think it is more for graduated courses. The language is a little bit confusing. It lacks of an order and if you buy the previous edition you wont miss anything from this one.
