He does a good job of convincing the reader that he is an environmental advocate first, a Democrat second. He thinks environmentalism should be a nonpartisan issue, and he supports either party's good-faith attempts to improve the environment. I don't know how ANYBODY, a Republican or Democrat, could have access to this information and still support the President. I assume most Republicans simply don't know all this.
