Customer Reviews and Description One hundred ninety-seven times. That is how many times the word bourgeois (or bourgeoisie) is used in Karl Marx's Communist Manifesto. That number comes only from the 50 pages of the manifesto itself (table of contents included), not the various introductions and prefaces in the book.

Customer Reviews and Description The author does not wish to appear a prig, so allows that some latitude for a range of behaviors is acceptable. But some public behaviors simply peeve her. The author comes across as a sloppy person more personally offended than socially aware. One is given no sound view of the Commons, and trenchant analysis of changes in modern society is really lacking. The result is thin gruel.

Customer Reviews and Description The collaborative work of Richard DuFour (Superintendent of Adlai Stevenson High School District 125, Lincolnshire, Illinois) and Robert Eaker (Dean of the College of Education, Middle Tennessee State University), Professional Learning Communities At Work: Best Practices For Enhancing Student Achievement offers the reader informed and informative information on how to transform any private or public school into a results-oriented "professional learning community" based upon practices from some of the best schools ... Customer Reviews and Description Because Jews have a long history of using ironic humor as a coping mechanism and there is or was an abundance of Jewish comedians, people seem to think of Yiddish as a funny language. The jacket illustration of Born to Kvetch reinforces this image, and the book does, indeed, contains elements of humor (as well as unnecessary vulgarity). But I think that reviewers who are deceived by these superficial aspects are overlooking serious and perhaps disturbing insights.

Customer Reviews and Description Anatomy of Hatha Yoga will help you SEE with X-Ray eyes deep inside the human body and illuminate your understanding of how yoga works. I only wish I'd had this book years ago when I took my first anatomy course--then I would not have gotten a D minus. Dr. David Coulter's parents must be very proud of him!

Customer Reviews and Description ok, I am using this book to re-enter into the computer tech market. I took my A+ in 2001, so I'm a little behind on what's on the A+ but after reviewing and starting to read the book I can see there has been some changes and many things have. I used this book as my primary book to get my A+ the first time, I trusted in it again. I also will be trusting in the same for my Network +.

Customer Reviews and Description For the sake of disclosure, I have not read the entire book yet, but went through it quickly, and know its tone and content. Also, I am a free-thinking, liberal, confident female, who (to paraphrase Mansfield) has studied men all my life (40+ years). I love men, and yet find many of them just tragically confused, unaware of what being a man is all about.

Customer Reviews and Description I agree with many of the reviews here. The book is interesting, readable, maybe even somewhat motivating, but not very helpful. When I got to the end of the book I didn't feel like I knew the author or her family any better than I did before. She obviously is a strong woman with a lot of wisdom to share, but she doesn't share it well. She doles out surface-skimming bullet points to address a WIDE variety of topics without giving much practical advice. Most of the things she recommends really are things most moms already know. There is ... Read MoreRead Reviews and Description

Customer Reviews and Description Beverly Kaye and Sharon Jordan-Evans have written a useful book for employees who are tempted by greener pastures. The authors caution that those who pursue a glittering opportunity often wind up in a golden mess. Thus, it makes sense to at least try to improve your job before seeking another one that, ultimately, may be even worse. The book's format offers one item of advice for each letter of the alphabet. At times, the formula wears a bit thin (X for "X-ers and Other Generations"), but the advice itself is sound. It primarily consists of encouraging ... Read MoreRead Reviews and Description
