Customer Reviews and Description She's funny, she's devoted and she's fat. And she's not young, either. So if you're a woman, no longer a teenager or a 30-something, you will find this book funny (sometimes hilarious) and refreshing. It will answer all the questions you'd be afraid to ask a seriously competitive athlete. (Not Ms Williams is not competitive, but she sees it from the light of a person who's happy she can move, much less win.)

Customer Reviews and Description This book is exactly what it advertises itself to be. It's interesting and potentially (let's hope not) necessary. After Katrina, I think we all know we need to be better prepared to take care of ourselves and not depend on the government. This book is one tool that assists in preparedness.

Customer Reviews and Description We enjoyed every aspect of this guide especially it's organization and clean style. The one we bought from Amazon was their revised 2005 version. Bravo to these hiker-authors who did all the legwork for us.

Customer Reviews and Description This is a book for anyone who is fascinated by animals and their behavior (I include the human animal too). Although it centers on the baboon troop chosen by Dr. Sapolsky for study, it also illuminates what life is really like for researchers "in the field," and does so with a lot of honesty, wit and humor. The author does not sentimentalize the animals he's studying but he does respect and have a lot of compassion for them, which I personally don't think is out of place in a researcher. Altogether, this is ... Read MoreRead Reviews and Description

Customer Reviews and Description This important walking recommendation and lifestyle advise was already given around 450 BC by the classic Greek physician Hippocrates. "Pedometer Walking" is a very welcome and timely book by experts to update this advise with the help of a modern stepcounter.

Customer Reviews and Description Went to a gem show and saw that many folks had this book. Made a mistake and bought it here. I had a MUCH MUCH better book titled Gemstones by Cally Hall. The Simon and Schuster book has fascinating sections on how artificial gems are made and such like info (Doesn't include Moissanite.). However, it does not have any info on many many gemstones readily available today, such as Sphene, Sunstone (state gem of Oregon I'm told)and many others. (You can find these in the Simon and Schuster Rocks and Minerals book). If you are only interested ... Read MoreRead Reviews and Description
