| 272. Baby Einstein: Babies (Baby Einstein (Board Books)) | |
by: Julie Aigner-Clark Amazon.com's Price: $3.99 Prices subject to change. Customer Reviews and Description My son loves this book! (And the Dogs one too.) He is one year old and he can easily turn the pages. There are other board books that are the same size, but the pages are too thick for him to turn the pages by himself very well. He likes to carry it around with him. When he's not bringing it to me to read to him, I often find him sitting there looking at it by himself. Love the pictures! And it's an easy book to throw into a diaper bag or a purse for those down times outside of the house! |

by: Mem Fox, Julie Vivas Amazon.com's Price: $6.95 Prices subject to change. Customer Reviews and Description No matter how many times I read "Wilfrid Gordon McDonald Partridge" by Julie Vivas, this book never fails to touch something deep inside my heart. It's about a little boy who lives next to a retirement home and his friendship with the people who live there. We get to see these elderly people in a little boy's eyes. And the thoughtful illustrations by Mem Fox show us quite clearly. (I love the illustrations) The touching and simple relationship between Wilfred Gordon and Miss Nancy is poignant to ... Read More |

Customer Reviews and Description This book is a fictionalized account of two years in the life of a young Shoshone girl, called "Bird Woman" in her own tongue. Kidnapped by a raiding tribe, whose language she must learn, she is enslaved and groomed for the chief's son. Something about Sacagawea excites the interest of several warriors during the course of this story, but she is forced to marry a sly, truculent French trapper named Charbonneau, by whom she has a son at only 14. While attempting to maintain historical accuracy ... Read More |

by: Eric Carle List Price: $10.99 Amazon.com's Price: $8.79 You Save: $2.20 (20%) Prices subject to change. Customer Reviews and Description I love this story of the determined spider who is blown on a fence and begins to weave her web, too busy to play with the other animals. She catches her fly at the end. The typical farm animals are represented and young children will be able to identify the animals by the pictures and can make the noises of the animals portrayed. The web can be felt with the fingertips, although my son was never and is still not impressed with this feat, although his mother is. Eric Carle is a masterful illustrator and story ... Read More |

by: L.M. MONTGOMERY List Price: $36.00 Amazon.com's Price: $25.20 You Save: $10.80 (30%) Prices subject to change. Customer Reviews and Description I first loved the "Anne-girl" books at 12 or 13. Since then, whenever I am feeling glum, I re-read the detail-filled tales of an orphan girl from PEI with a vivid imagination and an enviable, wholly positive outlook on life. I recently realized that I skipped volumes #5 and 6 so it was a real treat to go back to read them (I could relate better at 25 and a newlywed to "Anne's House of Dreams.") It's hard not to see the beauty and romance in these books. Lucy Maud Montgomery wrote charming tales--I imagine it's ... Read More |

by: Cynthia Rylant Amazon.com's Price: $6.99 Prices subject to change. Customer Reviews and Description This is a delightful and sweet story of a family traveling to visit relatives. The illustrations really bring the book to life. This is a great summer story for any child, but is especially fun and perfect for my 5 year old son who does better with new situations if he is able to have a sort of preview of what it is going to be like. We originally checked this book out from the library but have purchased a copy to keep. He loves to read the book and look at our photos from our family reunion trip. |
