Customer Reviews and Description I bought the book looking to know more about Bonhoeffer's theology..and ended up learning more about my own. Though at times I didn't agree with his thoughts, I found myself agreeing with the man. These letters mix profound questions with small daily details of life. It is authentic and transparent in a way that typical straightforward "theology" books can't be. There is honest, articulate, and earnest faith in these unselfconscious and private thoughts.

Customer Reviews and Description I really like Palahniuk's fiction and although there are some great pieces in this non-fiction collection, some of it feels like mere filler. The pieces that are great though, really stand out and are some of the best things he's ever written.

Learn how to live happy and healthy through hard work, moderation, and frugality. Only learn from the best, Benjamin Franklin! Read now, and learn how to live your best life ever. This book has a confidence in man that I have never observed. For all the selfishness, laziness, and overall rudeness that exists today, this is, in my opinion, the most important biography ... Customer Reviews and Description The author was born and raised in Texas, went to France to study psychiatry, and became embroiled in World War II while working with the French insurgents against the Nazi-installed sham government there. His insurgent work became known to the Gestapo and he had to "leave France in a hurry". He joined the Army Air Force as an Intelligence Officer, was badly wounded twice, and suffered from temporary blindness. He underwent a spiritual conversion and became a Catholic.

Customer Reviews and Description "A Moveable Feast" gives a lot of insights into Hemingway's feelings about Paris and France and how he regarded some to the great writers of his generation. The chapter on his road trip with F. Scott Fitzgerald is really funny. Hemingway also presents Pound as a likeable helpful straightforward person. After trying to make any sort of sense out of Pound's "Cantos" I always thought of Pound as a superintellectual eccentric off in the stars. That doesn't appear to be the person Hemingway knew. This a good book ... Read MoreRead Reviews and Description
