Customer Reviews and Description I've read all of Robin Cook's books and usually enjoy them but this one drug on for FOREVER. I just wanted to get to the end to confirm what I already knew halfway through the book. It seems like he layed out all of the information that would keep you interested pretty early on. The he must have just kept writing and relized 200 pages later that the story had ended some time ago so he writes a lame ending and calls it a day. The most excitement happens in the last 10 pages. This book was a big dissapointment. ... Read MoreRead Reviews and Description

Customer Reviews and Description When I read this book years ago, I found the information therein just as the title states: fascinating. But upon further perusing of this work, I began to notice incorrect information presented as fact. For example, the deer botfly does NOT fly at the stated high speed; that fanciful notion came from a quote by etymologist Charles H. T. Townsend. His absurd estimation was proven false by Irving Langmuir.

Customer Reviews and Description A dedicated fan of the Romanovs may find this book worth reading for its faithful recreation of the family's last days. As a novel, however, the book is seriously flawed. The story-within-a-story format is clumsily handled - the narrator goes off on long tirades about things that don't advance the plot at all, and spouts some tiresome (and cliched) opinions about the downfall of the Romanovs. Everything that happens after the murder of the family is completely unbelievable. It's like the author was trying to show off ... Read MoreRead Reviews and Description

Customer Reviews and Description I have to chime in with the majority and say that this was a great book. I like how she keeps the reader honestly guessing about who Ginger will end up with, and I also like the working-class aspect of this novel. Maybe I'm just a little weary of glamour-lit since I can't identify with expensive lifestyles.

Customer Reviews and Description One of the things that makes America great is the way businesses have made once-luxury items accessible and affordable to the masses. Few places is this more prevalent than candy, specifically chocolate candy. A tour of grocery stores and shops in other countries will quickly show that the price of candy in many other countries is a larger fraction of the average income than in America. This is probably the only fact about chocolate not covered in the book "Candyfreak". Everything else, from the history of chocolate, its varieties, ... Read MoreRead Reviews and Description

Customer Reviews and Description As someone who finds the supernatural absolutely fascinating, I have always found Picoult's novels intriguing. However, unlike some of her other works, this novel is a slow starter. No less than 20 characters are introduced in the first few chapters of the book and it is sometimes tedious to remember who is who. That being said, the characters finally begin to mesh and flow...the dross drains away and the pure gold of Picoult's writing talent emerges.

Customer Reviews and Description This book was very good on how to understand dreams, also on how to try and make your own dreams- like if you want to see into your future with your dreams- you can. I wouldn't reccomend this to any wiccan or pagan. it's for anyone really who just wants to study their dreams.

Customer Reviews and Description I was already aware of many of these issues, but this book was still eye-opening. The level to which medicine is controlled by drug companys and profits is astounding. The way studies and statistics are used to mis-lead are incredible. I am going to buy copies of this book for everyone I know who would read it.

Customer Reviews and Description I buy books for my grandkids, ages 4-6. They have been read to since birth and all love books. I am the "Book Grandma" so they get a book for each occasion. I am so please with this book, they giggle and laugh at the words and illustrations. I would highly recommend for this age group and also for new readers.
