Customer Reviews and Description He expanded on an goverment entitlement that inevitably will lead to tax increases on all Americans, passed Federal goverment regulation on business that it will make it more costly for them to comply with (as a result, some companies have gone public to private because of this new regulation) and has increased the size of big goverment to a level not seen since Lyndon B. Johnson. Am I talking about a Democrat president here? No, I'm talking about Republican George W. Bush.

Customer Reviews and Description I listened to this book on unabridged audio CD, and I loved every moment of it. Frank McCourt narrated the book and his strong Irish accent gave a wonderful color and rhythm to the writing and to his story.

Customer Reviews and Description I bought this one partly because I was curious as to the author's methods: how exactly did she pass as a man? There wasn't quite enough detail for my liking on this point, but I quickly forgot what I'd come for, too absorbed by the narrative -- and too busy carrying on my own mental dialogue with the author -- to worry about scrounging for technical information.

Customer Reviews and Description I read this book about 10 to 12 years ago, I was on a flight from Florida to California, I had seen Elie on TV, maybe even Oprah and bought the book. I was sobbing on the plane, I could not speak when my husband asked me what was wrong. I am an avid reader, no book has ever touched me the way this one did. I loaned it out, never got it back so I'm buying it to read again.

Customer Reviews and Description From the first day that I recieved this book, I could not put it down. 6 hours later, and I had finished the entire thing. I rarely find books that can keep me turning the pages for more than an hour or two, and as an avid reader I try to read as many books as I can. Rapp gives the reader a very interesting view on the broadway musical RENT, and his life throughout his time as an actor and son. A must read for any Renthead who loves the characters and the musical.

Customer Reviews and Description After learning of James Frey's totally bogus jail time, how can you possibly believe anything in this book!?!? He starts this book off with a bold face LIE! If it was sold as fiction I'd say it was a reasonable piece of writing. However, to say it's autobiographical, and then proceed to start the story with a totally fictional kick-off, what part, if any part of this story, really happened? The publisher should be taken to task for releasing a second bogus book by Frey listed as nonfiction! No one talked much about this ... Read MoreRead Reviews and Description

Customer Reviews and Description If you think you can reason with fundamentalist Islam, if you think Islamicists have any interest in tolerating classical liberal democracy, if you think the UN or the EU or any other "voice of reason" is going to be of any use in protecting such matters as freedom of speech, freedom of religion, freedom of anything whatsoever, then you would probably have supported Neville Chamberlain, and you really need this book.

Customer Reviews and Description Frankl Wrote this book based on his experiences in a Nazi concentration camp. Through his experience, Frankl used a psychotherapeutic method as a way to survive. This method later became existential therapy. The benefits of Man's Search for Meaning are twofold: creating an additional therapy for man to survive extraordinary situations and the exposing the horrors of Nazi concentration camps. Man's Search for Meaning should be read by everyone.

Customer Reviews and Description Whenever I read about successful people who received severely inadequate parenting, I wonder about the source of their resilience. Without being in the least bit preachy, Walls conveys that, for all their lunacy, her parents were engaged by the world around them. She grew up unevenly tutored, but pointed towards art, science and the natural world. Her parents also seem to have conveyed that the children should support and love one another; they did not set them up against each other. Walls' talent was indirectly nurtured, and then she proved ... Read MoreRead Reviews and Description
