Customer Reviews and Description I find this book just a bit disjointed. Its main thesis seems to be that the FAFTA agreements were basically a fraud perpetrated upon the American worker by a global elite. Mr. Faux sees a class war going on with this global elite (who he calls the 'Party of Davos,' from the town of Davos Switzerland where a conference is held each year) operating to their own benefit to the harm of the American worker.

Customer Reviews and Description Just finished every word, cover to cover, footnotes and all. It's that good. Akhil Reed Amar spins his story of the birth and development of our federal Constitution from the viewpoints of lawyers, political and social scientists. His work is spiced with detail, opinion and the confidence to direct readers to alternate opinions of other respected scholars. A copy of the Constitution is included with references to pages in the text where each Article or Amendment is discused . A great read and a great ... Read MoreRead Reviews and Description

Customer Reviews and Description The most powerful aspect of this book is the author's assertion that high IQ individuals can be less successful than those with emotional intelligence. Like other readers, I believe this book is mainly about social intelligence. You learn about the attributes required to deal effectively with others; specifically self-awareness, altruism, personal motivation, empathy, and one's capability to love and be loved by friends, intimate partners, and family members. I found excellent information about how the brain processes ... Read MoreRead Reviews and Description

Customer Reviews and Description Bird by Bird is a solid light read, but don't try and dig too deep beneath the surface. It gives some great advice on how to get into writing; however, if you are a non-spiritual person you may be frustrated with her style, as I was. Her continual references to God and the pseudo-religious tend to drag. The points she makes are true, but her method is not flawless, and you may have to cut through the muck to make sense of what she's actually saying.

Customer Reviews and Description This is an amazing book. I discovered it in the book section of K-Mart, of all places. I couldn't buy it just then, but I remembered the title and put it on my wish-list. This was one of many books I asked for last Christmas and my mom got it for me. Books like this are really great in an age when fewer and fewer people are reading books. Even my husband, who hates to read was interested in this book.

Customer Reviews and Description I hate to bash an author - but this book was torture to finish. It tries to follow the format of blink, tipping point and freakonmics - interesting stories to illustrate a point, however the author doesn't make many interesting statements. I came away feeling that the author was forced to finish a school paper on a topic- After the third explanation of how the average gets a better result, I got his point.

Customer Reviews and Description What follows is a review which many 9/11 "skeptics" will probably rate as "not helpful" because of their bias and refusal to accept the reality that 9/11 was not a USA government conspiracy.
