Customer Reviews and Description The book is definitely thorough and, considering the material, is about as easy a read as it can get. I haven't taken my test yet. I will probably go through the book a second time before I take the test along with some other prep materials but from what I can tell this book is definitely enough to get you through, if you supplement it with some online tools and practice testing (not just the free tests the book has).

Customer Reviews and Description Reading this 'leadership pipeline' I became really astonished of seeing here all the ideas of Elliott Jaques and Gillian Stamp (Bioss International) just copied with no reference to them. I keep wondering how can that be done. Jaques and Gillian Stamp has written for so many years about human capability and seven levels of work complexity that are clearly repeated in this book withouth no comment to them. Even the general themes are there, for example managing other, leader of leader, managing a business unit, managing ... Read MoreRead Reviews and Description

Customer Reviews and Description Wow! It's all "new" to the conventional biz press and its legions of fans. Arthur Lynch Williams has said for decades that any meaningful victory can only be accomplished through 'character'. Excitement and passion are only required if you want your reports to be passionate and excited. Great to see the academics now finally on the bandwagon of recognizing truths already gleaned from sport coaching, military leadership, and countless other disciplines and organizational behavior. Customer Reviews and Description This is a great "coffee table" book, though it is in paperback. It is not meant to be read like a book, but to be flipped through time and time again. The photographs are outstanding; world famous. The "Cowboy Ethics" are simple, straight forward, and are meant to cause some thought. There are numerous quotes in the book from classic western authors and actors to back up the "ethics". Leave this book on top of a desk in any business office, and it will definitely leave the reader with some new thoughts as they head to the water ... Read MoreRead Reviews and Description

Customer Reviews and Description What a wonderful book! I read it soon after reading Walter Pidgeon's book entitled The Not-For-Profit CEO, and I thought it really added to it. Pidgeon touched upon what it takes to be successful as a CEO, and the author here tells us in a narrative format comprising of 192 pages how to be effective/successful. I recommend this book to anyone who is responsible for leading a sole proprietorship, a small business, a nonprofit, a department in a for-profit, or a large for-profit. In short, I recommend it for an executive/leader.
