Customer Reviews and Description An amazing book which if filled with technical detail as well as anecdotes about Neil Armstrong. Most of the excruciating detail could be better served as an appendix, but overall an interesting read, if you can get past the first 150 pages. The book explains some of Mr. Armstrong's "recluse behavior", which I for one never thought he practiced and admired him for not embracing fame, especially at this age of reality TV and other shameful displays of humanity. Several pages of this book are dedicated ... Read MoreRead Reviews and Description

Customer Reviews and Description This book is a great read. Much less cerebral than Blue Like Jaz, through painted deserts is the story of Miller's trip to the Grand Canyon with good friend Paul. During th journey, God shows his care for them several times - through wonderful and unexpected turns of events and direct answers to prayers. The book is practical theology - Miller is not interested in theology of abstracts here, it is theology lived.

Customer Reviews and Description I think that Maus was an informative book. Even though it was completely in comics, it told the story very well. I think that the book would have been better if it wasn't completely written in comics. Another thing that I didn't like about the book was the fact that it shows all of the characters as mice. This was confusing at times.

Customer Reviews and Description This book starts out slow and tedious, as the author really lays it on to make sure we all realize she's a working class heroine. I must admit, her childhood was not that interesting. BUT STAY WITH IT. Once she gets to New York, the story takes off and is unrelentingly real, sad and engaging till the end. She goes to the big city, builds a successful career for herself (and by herself), meets and marries her own Prince Charming. And then he gets sick. Nearly her entire married life is spent dealing with cancer. ... Read MoreRead Reviews and Description

Customer Reviews and Description This is not what I expected or wanted. The book is written for business senarios with very few suggestions of a personal nature. The description of the book does not indicate that it is mainly for business use.

Customer Reviews and Description While I've generally enjoyed the music of the Beatles over the years, I'm not what you might call a fanatic. So, unlike others who have read Bob Spitz's work, I don't have 25 other books under my belt to compare it to. That's one of the reasons I bought this book--so I wouldn't *have* to read 25 other books to get an overview of the Fab Four.

Customer Reviews and Description I don't typically read books of faith and that is what I perceived The Hiding Place to be. So, in beginning The Hiding Place, I had preconceived notions of what the book had to offer. I was very wrong. Boy, was I wrong.

Customer Reviews and Description I completely enjoyed this book. Billy Crystal with his sense of humor made me feel like I wanted to be a part of his family. His family members are all charactors and he found the love and humor in all of them. It's no wonder he is the grounded, hilarious funny man he is today with all the support and love he had at home.
