Customer Reviews and Description I'm not much of a mountain climber at all...Mount Rainier is one of the very few mountains I've ever stepped foot on. Mike's book was still highly entertaining to read for stories or general infactuation with climbing.

Customer Reviews and Description Intend to spend a week fishing the Kenai this Summer. This book gives me the information I wanted to wander on my own and feel that I will still catch fish. Well organized both in terms of fish to expect, but also well broken down by areas. The author provides sufficient information on those fishing Alaska for the first time to feel relatively comfortable that they will be prepared with the proper equipment and knowledge to have a successful trip.

Customer Reviews and Description I think this is a good "hot to" book, but honestly, I would have expected a little more from it... especially for the price.

Customer Reviews and Description This is one of my all time favorite books--even though much of it I had to read and re-read several times to get a clear understanding of some of the points it makes. I believe everyone should read this...several times---it has some truly fascinating information in it and is an excelent book to really get you thinking and appreciating the nature of this planet we live on!

Customer Reviews and Description Olympic is a beautiful park with diverse terrain, serious vertical gain, rain forests, waterfalls, northern pacific coast, glaciered peaks and miles and miles of trails for both day hikes and extensive backcountry excursions. The falcon guide does a good job organizing the park, providing acceptable overview references, including compelling photography (for black and white) and selecting a diversity of hike distances. There short hikes, moderate and long day hikes and multi-day excursions (though the emphasis is on ... Read MoreRead Reviews and Description

Customer Reviews and Description In 1996 I took my first backpacking trip ever. It was in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. Became lost, carried too much weight...but enjoyed myself anyway. Two years later was on Katahdin in Maine. A big smile on my face...had just completed a thru-hike of the Appalachian Trail.
