Customer Reviews and Description I though Fr. Edward gave us a great insight into the priesthood and what it is like to devote yourself to the church. See what Carly Simon, who Fr. Edward met said about him. "The very first time I saw Father Edward's face, I knew I would learn something about `men of the cloth'. A little the way you come to realize that your most erudite teachers have nightmares and hurt feelings and stomach aches. I had always been a little too much in awe of Priests, monks and other clergy or theological types. ... Read MoreRead Reviews and Description

Customer Reviews and Description I purchased this book hoping to expand on what I already know about Enoch, a biblical character I both admire and am intrigued by. Instead I found it to be extremely repetitive and propogandistic. The author was more concerned with making racial claims than with providing an interesting and fulfilling portrait of a great profit. Unless you are the type who is obsessed with the color of biblical characters I do not recommend this book.

Customer Reviews and Description Having read One Child over and over and over again starting at the age of ten, I was euphoric to come upon The Tiger's Child in a bookstore 15 years later. I had wondered about Sheila my whole life, worked for several years in a preschool in great part due to that astonishing tale. I believe all the magic that was in the first book, because that is the truth about the reality of children. The Tiger's Child was somehow more sad, even if in much subtler & less horrifying ways than the first book. Sheila had left ... Read MoreRead Reviews and Description

Customer Reviews and Description All the sentiment, emotion and spirit of Angela's Ashes is gone and in it's place is a tale of resentment and anger. I thought Angela's Ashes was written with a sense of pride and understanding but neither can be found in McCourt's TIS. TIS contains too much whining and complaining and not enough inspiration to be recommended. This book is depressing enough to make Oprah Winfrey's book list.

Customer Reviews and Description This is my first book by this author--but it will not be the last. I was very, very impressed--and tantalzied--by this book. It's got the makings of a classic BDSM tale and really drew me into the story and characters.
