Customer Reviews and Description Those who already know Niall Ferguson do not need any praise for the books he writes: a few years ago I chanced to read his excellent "The Cash Nexus" and this led me to "The Pity of War" and finally to "The House of Rothschild".

Customer Reviews and Description I'm usually very interested in books that deal with religion and women, but this book bored me. I feel a great deal of sympathy for the author, but her writing style was amateurish and she needed a good editor. She simply told a story, but she didn't recreate in my mind the emotions and world that she was describing. The book may be still worth reading, simply for the cultural value it serves.

Customer Reviews and Description When I look at the Doors and Jim Morrison I see some of the most physicadelic people on Earth. Reading this novel truly gave me an insight on Morrison's mind, from his childhood to his demise. Reading this I learned how he was thought of as a hero by the public and a drunken frat-boy by his friends and bandmates. I loved this novel and I loved learning of the life of Jim Morrison.

Customer Reviews and Description The book is compelling and awe inspiring. Last night I was given the privledge of watching the premier for "End of the Spear" The story told from the view of the Indians. I cried at the end like I had never cried. It did more justice to the Elliot family and so much to the Indians. It is a must see.

Customer Reviews and Description I am a second year medical student and after reading this book I'm not sure if I am encouraged or more frightened about what I am about to face in the next 5 years. I am encouraged that some one else with little confidence can survive, but I am afraid of the many daunting tasks and cases that I could meet. Ofri does a good job at expressing the efforts and troubles that an aspiring physician must face. However I think that few of us will find such entertaining stories. However embellished the stories are they make for good reading ... Read MoreRead Reviews and Description

Customer Reviews and Description Ostensibly about writing, I found The Writing Life to be profound on many levels and applicable to any pursuit of art. The honesty and profoundly moving turns of phrase are compelling. This is one of those books that when it first came out went to call my read-aholic friends that year...and now they've discovered Dillard's other, wonderous works. A book to be re-read every once in a while...and given away and enjoyed.
