Customer Reviews and Description Kathy Dobie's book is truely great. She talked about the stereotypes put on women and reminds us that even today some things haven't changed regarding womens sexuality and how open they can be regarding their sexual practices but still reminds me a 23 years old women that stereotypes are still alive today. Many women can identify with her life and sexual experience whether good or bad. I couldnt put the down I finished it in one night. Truely amazing.

Customer Reviews and Description If you lived through the 50's and 60's think it would been even more meaningful. It does tug at the heartstrings though. More than once I had to stop because of the tears. I wish I could have been as lucky to have the realtionship with my father. A quick, easy and lighthearted read.

Customer Reviews and Description How could anyone not love this book (and the author)?!? Never have I read such a brutally honest account of ones life. Anne Lamott's writing is so refreshly sincere. All believers in Christ should rally around Ms. Lamott and encourage her to continue to bare her naked soul to the rest of the world. I read reviews that said she was irreverent, which if you read with a closed mind you may find this to be so, but I found her to be a REAL person, who realizes she is simply saved by God's grace and by nothing she's done on her ... Customer Reviews and Description This book is a must-read for any Civil War or American history buff. Grant's writing is consistently clear, elegant, beautiful. He gives an engaging account of his wartime experiences that are accurate to the best of his ability, and he writes with introspection and humility. The personal letters at the end of the volume reveal much about this fascinating man, and are a welcome addition. Please read this one! Another wonderful book in this series is the volume containing Frederick Douglass's autobiographical works.

Customer Reviews and Description Mark Anderson has written an excellent account of the life of Edward de Vere, Earl of Oxford and has established definitively the identity of Shakespeare. His meticulous research and painstaking detail paints a colourful picture of Elizabethan England and the background and historical fact behind the Shakespearean plays and sonnets. This book sets the stage for the recognition in our present time of Edward de Vere as the true genius he was and which he was known to be in his own time. I have no doubt that the Shakespeare authorship question ... Read MoreRead Reviews and Description
