Customer Reviews and Description The book does not just cover major water but literally almost every creek, river, and lake in the Park. The descriptions of the waters are rich. In fact, I have read this book about 10 times -- spending much of my winters thinking about fly-fishing by reading its entertaining descriptions of the Park's waters. You have to really explore Yellowstone to understand its vast beauty and where its fishing secrets lie but this book is an outstanding starting point. Don't read it, study it.

Customer Reviews and Description I felt like I was in training as an apprentice while reading this book. It is an excellent source of knowledge for Rainforest herbs learned from a H'men (Shaman or Mayan Healer) and for some plants we grow in the US. My only regret is not reading this book prior to visiting Belize via a cruise ship and not going to Ixchel Farm. (I definitely will on next trip). The source of reference in the back of the book is excellent for resources on Herbs. There are recipes for teas and tinctures useful for all ... Read MoreRead Reviews and Description

Customer Reviews and Description The Corvette reflects America. It has experienced its highs (the 1950s and early '60s) to its lows (the 1970s). Any Corvette fan knows that. So what makes Leffingwell's book special? It is the official (or almost) review of the Chevrolet Corvette for its first half-century. What I enjoyed about this book was that it didn't obsess with technical details like so many others. It never strays from the subject at hand. Leffingwell talks about the history, development, and politics surrounding the Corvette ... Read MoreRead Reviews and Description

Customer Reviews and Description These spectacular pictures taken from different media (Space.cam using Shuttle Radar) are a unique collection of Earth's mountain ranges on all seven continents, some as seen from Space during the Shuttle Radio Topography Mission. Stefan Dech, professor at the University of Wurzburg in Germany where these 120 images were compiled, as head of the Remote Senisng Data Center over a five year course concludes: "distance creates clarity."

Customer Reviews and Description I first saw this book at an hacienda on the slopes of Cotopaxi in mainland Ecuador, before our trip to the islands. I thought that if the islands were as good as the photos in this book I wouldn't be dissappointed. I was right - and I bought the book when I got home as a reminder of our trip! Although we took many photos they're not a patch on those in this book. The photography is superb. An absolute must for all visitors to the Islands.

Customer Reviews and Description My wife gave me this book in 1978, and I devoured it in one evening. I have since been all over the world, and no matter where I go, the pines are always the reference point for me. My teen years were spent in the pines, with my good friend Tom, where we would travel its dirt roads, canoe its streams and fish its lakes, and hike its trails and roads. Mr. McPhee weaves a story that is so true, so historically rich, and for me, so reminiscent of the years of my youth. Please read this book, and then go and make your own ...
