Customer Reviews and Description Author and now survivalist (in the truest sense, as both skilled outdoorsman and authentic spiritual sojourner) Jim Hohnberger recognized his fast-paced lifestyle wasn't getting him where he wanted to go. With a wife and two sons he didn't have time for, Hohnberger's search for genuine life-altering faith in God sent him across the country more than two decades ago. In this text, Hohnberger details his early family life, his cursory entertainment with religion, and the various rabbit holes he ventured ... Read MoreRead Reviews and Description

Customer Reviews and Description All the sentiment, emotion and spirit of Angela's Ashes is gone and in it's place is a tale of resentment and anger. I thought Angela's Ashes was written with a sense of pride and understanding but neither can be found in McCourt's TIS. TIS contains too much whining and complaining and not enough inspiration to be recommended. This book is depressing enough to make Oprah Winfrey's book list.

Customer Reviews and Description Philo's complete works, are very difficult to come by, yet this book makes his work accessible! This is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED, as the Loeb edition is massive, and expensive. This is a must-have for all scholars, laymen, and those who enjoy extra-canonical literature, especially for insight to the Judaic background of the New Testament.

Customer Reviews and Description This was a REALLY fun read!! It's an up close and personal look into the mind of guy, a serious sports fan, a comedian, and a recovering alcoholic. I love reading books that give me a glimpse into someone else's head. This book not only helped me understand guys better - but it made me laugh on every page.

Customer Reviews and Description I expected another great book about nature's ability to communicate with life forms in more ways than we expect. Instead I got MORE! Influencing each other in ways once couldn't imagine, this book builds past the works of even Michael Roads (author of great works like Journey Into Nature). It is almost too advanced for me just now, but a book I will definitely go back to again and again.

Customer Reviews and Description When G.K. Chesteron was "assigned" this book, there were those who did not think that Chesterton was intellectually equipped to write the book. Chesterton proved these critics wrong and wrote a short but well written book titled ST. THOMAS AQUINAS: THE DUMB OX.

Customer Reviews and Description First off, I think it's hilarious that techie nerds have given this fantastic book bad reviews on account of there being factual inaccuracies. The author makes no pretensions about his accounts, and the one-chapter section at the beginning about him remembering Apollo 11 is touching and puts the book in its proper context. This book is not for the slide-rule, pocket-protector set at all. It's by and for the person whose fascination is not with the trajectories and measurements and equations and jargon and acronyms and so forth. But believe me, ... Customer Reviews and Description I stumbled across this book right before I entered a Teacher Certification program, and have used pieces from it in nearly every course I have taken. I imagine I will read it when I am feeling down when I have my own classroom. I find Esme's bold approach to education empowering. I buy into the ideal world, and this book embodies that. I know that the world of education is far from perfect, but if we keep striving to be better, how can we go wrong?
