by: LINDA SUE PARK Amazon.com's Price: $5.50 Prices subject to change. Customer Reviews and Description The book When My Name Was Keoko, by Linda Sue Park is a very fun way to learn about Korean history. The book was very interesting and had me reading it every chance I got. The story switched between two people, Sun-hee and Tae-yul, as they told the reader about the Japans occupation of Korea. Tea-yul goes to Japan to become a Kamikaze pilot and tells the story of the military. Sun-hee stays home and tells what is going on in Korea. It is very interesting to see the story from two different points of view. ... Read More |

Customer Reviews and Description This book covers every issue that you will encounter in the typical foster care setting. I can not recommend this book strongly enough. It should be given out as a textbook at training sessions. Nothing we were told or personal experiences that were related to us in training cover what is going to happen with your first placement to your 10th. Do not hesitate to purchase this book and copies for anyone you know that is or wants to be a foster parent. Of course it won't solve the problems that you encounter unless you ... Read More |

Customer Reviews and Description This book has stunning illustrations in the style of Indian miniature paintings, including some surprise fold-out pages. It is educational and entertaining on many levels: it illustrates a difficult math concept, it tells a dynamic fable from another country, and it is beautiful to look at. Art, literature, and math convene in one delightful children's book. It would make a wonderful gift. My son enjoys it even though he is only 5, because he often wonders about big numbers, and the story is adventurous enough to hold his ... Read More |

| 1078. Me on the Map (Dragonfly Books) | |
|
by: JOAN SWEENEY Amazon.com's Price: $6.99 Prices subject to change. Customer Reviews and Description A very simplistic but impacting look at maps from a me/mine perspective beginning with her room, house, street... all the way to world and then back to room. The theme is "everyone has a special place in the world and this is how you'll find me"; using a map. The illustrations of the map are very vague in terms of detail, but gives a great relative perspective of the area it comprises. It will introduce the younger children and provide a more vivid explanation to the older ones. I would recommend ages K-4th grades. |

The idea of spanking is still one that exist today and used in the right manner can work wonders. Kudos to Russell Hoban. We need more books that handle strong willed children this way. My little girl loves these books about Frances. She honestly said after we read this book , "Mommy, this sounds familiar!" by: Sandra Boynton Amazon.com's Price: $6.95 Prices subject to change. Customer Reviews and Description My 19 month old daughter loves Boynton books, this one inparticular. I purchased Barnyard Dance, Oh My Oh My Oh Dinosaurs, andOne, Two, Three for her birthday and I have been very pleased with the quality and adorability of these books. My daughter has begun to memorize certain portions of the book, such as hot and cold, and applies it to everyday things. This is a wonderful book to teach opposites and the rhymes are fun and easy to memorize. I would certainly recommend this and the other Boynton books. |
