Customer Reviews and Description I bought this book for my son because it's on his "wish list." I laughed so loud in my bathroom that my husband thought I'd won the war with my grey hair again (I pluck them religiously). The book is so funny but matter-of-factly, I couldn't help but making mental notes when I read the section, "How to land a plane." Do I feel safer when I travel? You bet!

Customer Reviews and Description The authors map out clear, effective and proven strategies for rewarding parenting in this excellent well-written guide. An imaginative approach was called for when my 16 year old boy Jonathan threatened to barricade himself in his bedroom using just twigs, leaves, and his own spittle and dung, and this guide provided just that. There's nothing wrong with setting parameters, the authors say, just as long as that are not arbitrary or capricious and they are clearly articulated - and for crying out loud ... Customer Reviews and Description This is one of those helpful books that make us better both at work and at home. Although focused primarily on (professional) public speaking abilities it may also help us communicate more confidently and therefore more efficiently with our business partners and colleagues, guests on private parties, museum visitors, and tourist group members. The book is well structured, excellently written, easy readable - even for non-native English speakers! - and brimming with interesting observations, suggestions and instructions. ... Customer Reviews and Description i was introduced to this book by Mangrove editor Neil de la Flor, who at the time was my instructor in a poetry class. he told me if i want to get published or become familiar with the community of poets i should look into this book. i did not buy the book. then Maureen Seaton, a published poet and my advisor, told me about Poet's Market. alright, still did not buy it. this semester i was buying textbooks and had some money leftover, i was going to spend it on junk i did not need but then saw Poet's Market on display at ... Customer Reviews and Description Dr. Gray is an inspiration to any couple having intimacy issues. From a female perspective it is amazing that he has captured the essence of what a female truly needs from her partner and has put it into words that our partners can understand. Also from a female perspective, it is a relief to be able to hear what a man needs and get a translation of it into real loving terms that I can relate to. Just because a man wants sex, doesn't mean that it is not related to him loving me. This book is fantastic.

Customer Reviews and Description If you are not in a fog from having a weak mind, you will see the truth in this book. Look at the length of the negative reviews, more of the same agenda that is destroying our country, from broken people who don't have the wisdom to save themselves. A man not broken knows the truth when he hears it. Listen

Customer Reviews and Description I read this book in my African American Studies class, and I loved it. Moody has a real good way of describing and telling her story. The hardships and struggles to get rid of the oppression placed on the blacks during this time is captured wonderfully, you feel like you're right there marching and fighting with them. A must read for everyone, every color!

Customer Reviews and Description I love this type of book because I can pick it up, read it for 1 minute or 1 hour and put it back down again. Although I did notice one error (about Truman Capote), most of the facts are interesting and amusing. I recommend it.

Customer Reviews and Description This book is a must read if you are interested in psychology. The way it is written is understandable even by the lay man. The mix between history and modern psychology is exelent. I really enjoyed reading this book and highly recomend it. If you enjoyed this book, you may also be interested in Unchained Memories. Both of these books were required for the psychology class I took at DU. Both books are superb.

Customer Reviews and Description I stopped reading this book at pages 43-44. At that point the author described Mike Ditka, the Hall of Fame player and coach as a "linebacker." Mike Ditka is enshrined as a tight end -- an offensive player, not defensive. This bit of disinformation by George Crile makes his entire research project on Charlie Wilson and Gust Avrakotos suspect. The reference to Ditka is minutiae, as Crile attempts to identify Avrakotos with persons from Aliquippa, Pa. who have gone on to fame or stardom. What a pity that Crile, who wrote a book that ...
