Customer Reviews and Description It is not a perfect book, as I don't think there is one yet, but it is very good in explaining things. There are topics missing or that could be explored deeper/better/more accurately. And I also don't completely like the organization, but it is the best for students in general microeconomics course. If you are a business/econ/finance student, there are probably better books (I like hubbard/o'brien and krugman for these cases).

Customer Reviews and Description I did not like this book. You can't use the cds in your car. The book skips around and doesn't interpret the sentences the cds read to you. I bought this book for a Spanish 2 class. The teacher didn't even end up liking the book after reviewing it more. This would be a good book to use as a refresher before a trip to Mexico. I don't recommend it to someone wanting to learn Spanish.

Customer Reviews and Description I first knew of this author by reading a few of his articles in The NEW YORKER, then I did a quick search and came across this book, which is the only book he's written so far, I believe. I really enjoyed reading this book, it cracked me up a number of times while reading it. First of all, I am a Chinese and been living in the US a little short of 8 years, so I am more or less Americanized and kind of understand how the Americans' thinkings are, for me, I have been on the both sides, I know exactly how an ... Customer Reviews and Description John Gardner opens with the question that I have often pondered myself, "Why do we not have better leadership?" For me, the following question is 'how did these people obtain their position?' Of course the latter question is outside the scope of Gardner's text.

Customer Reviews and Description There are a lot of good points that are covered in this book. Many people with Asperger's, which is a neurobiological condition that is on the same spectrum as autism often miss social cues. Facial expressions, expected responses and nonverbal nuances are often not readily obvious to people with Asperger's. Many people with Asperger's Syndrome find having tasks broken down into a sequence of steps a helpful approach in processing information.

Customer Reviews and Description This book pretends to open our eyes to the logic of Bin Laden's message by showing us his writings and speeches in their entirety rather than the 'sound bites' we hear in the western media. Supposedly the sound bites give us only a negative stereotype of Bin Laden who is actually a quite intelligent, just, freedom loving, women's rights crusader only 'opposing American policies'. Thus the killing of 3,500 American civilians, the destruction of the Bamiyan Biddha statues in Afghanistan, the slaughter of Shiites in Iraq, all of it ... Read MoreRead Reviews and Description

Customer Reviews and Description This is definitely a must read for anyone laboring under the illusion that our planetary resources are unlimited. A lot of people may be disturbed by the well corroborated fact that in 40 or so years the earth's supply of oil will be entirely depleted and that shiny Escalade will be a worthless pile of metal. Yes, we believe that we are so rich in this country, but the truth of the matter is that we're poor beyond our imaginings, to borrow a quote from the book.

Customer Reviews and Description In my Graduate studies this is one of the most important books that I was ever assigned to read. It is an indispensible guide to better grammar, and the information is communicated with fun. Patricia T. O'Connor writes in an easy to understand manner with plenty of clear examples. This is a book I will be using for years to come to keep my writing sharp.
