Customer Reviews and Description I've only partially read this book, and I could write a review praising it and then recommend my favorite book, but instead of misleading someone due to a false review and insulting anyone by thinking they couldn't tell the difference I'll just recommend my favorite book. It's call 'The Quest' and written by Giorgio Kostantinos, it's a great story. So if you have a couple minutes take a look and I know you won't be disappointed.

Customer Reviews and Description It's commonly accepted that the Christmas holiday season has become the annual highpoint of consumerism in America, but how sad that this short-sighted foolishness extends so far into the upper echelons of even our literary establishment. Maya Angelou's 2005 holiday book is a good example. "Amazing Peace: A Christmas Poem" did phenomenal sales in its first month of publication and is guaranteed to be a staple of holiday display tables in bookstores for years to come. It's a tiny hardcover book that ... Read MoreRead Reviews and Description

Customer Reviews and Description I bought this book new off of Amazon. In the first few chapters, it talks about how the PSAT is great (hey...go spend money and take it!), how many people take the SAT multiple times (hey... don't just spend $41.50 for one test, give us $83 for taking two!), AND they have a special chapter for the PSAT. I bought a darn book on the SAT not the PSAT. And plus, any genius can figure out that the PSAT is similar to the SAT. They also try to make the book look bigger and thicker (not to mention wasting ink ... Read MoreRead Reviews and Description

Customer Reviews and Description A lot of people are complaining that this is 'boring' and slowly paced, but I dunno. I didn't have any trouble with boredom. I'm not gonna launch into the "The youth of today has a terrible problem with attention span" thing, because that's BS anyway. But really.

Customer Reviews and Description This book was not as entertaining as other books i have read from this series. Handler did not have his magical touch while writing this book. But penultimate peril is still as must read for all die hard Snicket readers.

Customer Reviews and Description I was amazed by the negative comments concerning the audio narration of Inkspell by Brendan Fraser. I thought he did a wonderful job. He has a very smooth pleasant voice and I really enjoyed his performance. I also enjoyed Lynn Redgrave's narration for Inkheart (her raspy voiced Dustfinger was probably more suitable for a fire-eater though, I must admit). But no, I was not put off by the difference in their styles of narration, on the contrary, it was interesting to me to listen to the different interpretations ... Customer Reviews and Description The book is filled with poetry with which children can relate. The poem "Sneeze" is an example. The poem describes the jiggle and wiggle of the nose before the sneeze. The CD is delightful. I, an adult, listen to it while at work. The book may be targeted to ages 4-8, but it is actually for all ages. A baby can fall alseep to comforting tones. Older children love to say the words along with the reader.

Customer Reviews and Description These novels are involving- captivating even. The diction is beautiful and flowing, the ideas original and the descriptive prose is breathtaking. Lush landscapes abound. Certain principals of friendship and truth and love are upheld. The characters are interesting- though I found the protagonist rather one-dimensional, in some strange little way.

Customer Reviews and Description Having recently read The Third Summer of the Sisterhood, I highly recommend this and the three before it. Actually, I mostly recommend this and the other books to mature girls because of it being about teenage girls who demonstrate how real teenage girls act. As a matter of fact, whenever one of my friends asks me what books they should read I always first mention this series. If they say they have already read it, we end up getting of topic and start talking about how great the book is.
