Customer Reviews and Description I've only partially read this book, and I could write a review praising it and then recommend my favorite book, but instead of misleading someone due to a false review and insulting anyone by thinking they couldn't tell the difference I'll just recommend my favorite book. It's call 'The Quest' and written by Giorgio Kostantinos, it's a great story. So if you have a couple minutes take a look and I know you won't be disappointed.

Customer Reviews and Description I finally got on the bandwagon and read this book, expecting great things. After two hundred pages, I began to wonder when the story would get underway. Things happen, or don't happen, we're not sure, and then switch tracks and other things happen, and so it goes. Certain characters are developed at great length in excruciating detail, and then vanish completely from the rest of the book or pop up briefly for an unnecessary walk-on. Other characters come along fairly late or lurk in the shadows until all ... Read MoreRead Reviews and Description

Customer Reviews and Description The first three books in the Ice and Fire series were phenomenal. I could not put them down. I checked the GRRM website regularly to find out when A Feast for Crows would be released, something I do not do with other authors. Unfortunately, A Feast for Crows was a huge disappointment. It was tedious. And easy to put down.

Customer Reviews and Description Jordan's epic started of well enough. Through its first three volumes, all aspects of the series were, at best, good--better than 90% of the fantasy garbage on the market at the time at any rate. Then, simply put, he let the series metamorphose into something beyond his ability to keep writing. I'm sorry, but he's just not a good enough writer to keep his characters, plot, and mythology coherent in a multi-volume series. However, each new novel he pumped out, despite their gradual decline from "mediocre" to ... Read MoreRead Reviews and Description

Customer Reviews and Description While this book may not be as good as the first I think it is a great read all the same. It answered a few questions that were left in the first book and brought up new ones. I would love to see a third book in time. No doubt he is a great author but I would not let children read it.

Customer Reviews and Description This book surprised me, and that was more than I hoped for. I generally don't go for popular "Oprah Club" style literature, but the characters in this book were so vivid, loveable, and heartwarming that I could not put the book down. This book doesn't fit any category, it's not a cheesy romance, not really a science fiction, not a mystery. It's a unique story about two people who go through so much together over a lifetime. It's well worth reading at least once...and you might find yourself reading it again and again.

Customer Reviews and Description These novels are involving- captivating even. The diction is beautiful and flowing, the ideas original and the descriptive prose is breathtaking. Lush landscapes abound. Certain principals of friendship and truth and love are upheld. The characters are interesting- though I found the protagonist rather one-dimensional, in some strange little way.

Customer Reviews and Description In Star Wars Dark Nest III: The Swarm War we have the dramatic conclusion to the Dark Nest trilogy where the Killik Crisis and the split in the Jedi Order are dealt with. Both of these situations had been left on a cliffhanger from The Unseen Queen and both in my opinion are nicely resolved in The Swarm War, even though some things are left deliberately open as to lead into the Legacy of the Force series. However this was not detrimental to my enjoyment of the book or the trilogy overall.

Customer Reviews and Description I'm not sure how this book has received such rave reviews. I'm as qualified to call myself a Star Wars fan as anyone (more qualified, as my fiancee laments). In fact, I looked forward to this book, because I thought Luceno's LABYRINTH OF EVIL (set between Episodes II and III) was possibly the best Star Wars novel since the original Star Wars sequel, Timothy Zahn's "Heir to the Empire" series. And since DARK LORD was to tell the story behind Darth Vader's rise to power within the new Empire, I eagerly awaited its release.
