by: David Halberstam Average Rating: ![]() Rating: - Great Book, but suffers from "Fluff Stuff"I think this book provided me (at least) with an excellent background of Belichick, effectively filling in the parts about him I didn't know about. I've been a strong Pats fan since Kraft bought the team. Rating: - A decent book, but I instead recommend When the Game Stands TallThis is a good read for any Patriots fan or fan of the NFL, but I had a hard time getting into it. The book is VERY detailed about Belichick's family and upbringing, which I found both revealing and a little bit boring. If you are looking for a similar book, I highly recommend When the Game Stands Tall, written by Neil Hayes. This book profiles high school football coach Bob Ladouceur and how he created a football powerhouse by getting his players to buy into his system and buy into each other. Rating: - Excellent readingNot only is this book a wonderful story of the growth and maturity of a young football coach, but it is also the story of a strong relationship between a father and a son. Even if you are not a football fan, the human relationship story makes this book a confortable read for anyone.
