This book was a very good and very quick read. I picked it up on a whim, and was surprised to find that I couldn't put it down. I was also surprised to learn that I, as someone who is interested in math and science, had a lot in common with Christopher, the autistic main character. I think this is the books greatest strength--it presents autism in a unique new way that facilitates better understanding for those of us who haven't had a great deal of exposure to it.

This book is purportedly a memoir by a 15-year-old British autistic kid who solves the mystery of who killed his neighbor's dog. The story also tells how he passes his A levels in Math, how his father fights with the school administration (and his mother), and several other subplots. This is a remarkable book about how an autistic person thinks and sees the world. I found it truly fascinating.

He had it right, but over did it. I don't care how many Aspies he's spoken with, they aren't freaks like he makes Christopher seem to be at times.
