I was originally put off by children's books written by Madonna but I waited six months to get this from the library because it came highly recommended. Now I have to add it to my home library and check out Madonna's other books. Very unfortunately this book entered my house as a gift. I found the illustrations warm and sort of magical, pulling you into the story. But the story coming from Madonna? Sorry, it makes me despise her. It evokes the same feelings I currently harbor for priests and their allies higher up in the Catholic church which I now associate with hypocrisy. Many of them are wolfs in sheep cloths as I had always suspected. Madonna would be a great leader of the pack -- of hypocrites that is.

Okay, I agree that the book teaches a valuable lesson. The lesson is that it is hurtful to make unfair assumptions about people. However, it seems as though no thought was put into making the story interesting or fun. It does not use colorful language and feels a bit flat. I very much enjoyed the illustrations...they are quite beautiful.
