This is a well researched, informative read. The author spent a few decades in the media world he is critiquing. This gives him far more credibility than those of us on the outside looking in. The alphabet networks (ABC, CBS, etc.) believe nothing is news unless it has moved over a wire service or (even more importantly) has appeared in the New York Times. Goldberg gives a telling exchange between Arthur O. Sulzburger, Jr. ("Pinch") and his father back in the '60's. The father asked Pinch whom he would prefer to see die if a Viet Cong and a GI faced off with rifles at the ready.
